Panasonic Lumix Phone P05C sports 132 megapixel camera

first_imgSure, the iPhone 4 takes pretty darn nice pictures. Nice enough that it’s become one of the most popular cameras on Flickr in recent months. Nokia’s N9 seems to be capable of capturing brilliant images as well, with its super-fast shooting abilities, 8MP sensor, and Carl Zeiss optics. But in the smartphone world, there’s always a competitor lurking in the shadows, hoping to wrestle away the crown if only for a month or two. Panasonic thinks it’s up to the challenge, and is putting its Lumix Phone P-05C up for sale in Japan on the NTT DoCoMo network. The P-05C sports a 13.2MP sensor, Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S. for jitter-free and crystal clear images, and an ultra-bright LED flash. Like its camera-only Lumix cousins, the P-05C offers 11 preset shooting modes (including full auto), burst mode (which captures 8 sequential images), and the widest-angle lens you’ll find on a cameraphone (27MM).  It’s also capable of recording video in 1080p HD.While the rear is clearly all about the Lumix camera branding, the front does, in fact, pack phone hardware. There’s a 3.3″ display which runs at 480×854 pixels, Wi-Fi radio, and microSD expansion (capable of handling cards up to 32GB). Standby time is listed at up to 530 hours while talk time comes in at a more humble 210 minutes. Including the battery, the Lumix Phone P-05C weighs in at just under 150 grams.Like Panasonic’s previous Lumix phones, there’s no word about the P-05C being offered up for sale outside Japan.More at GSM Arena and Panasonic Japanlast_img
