A very local company with great international reach

first_imgFrom inception up until the setting up process, how did you start your business? In truth, I started out in hospitality, running an extremely busy function centre in the Eastern suburbs in Melbourne and later in Sydney. I believe that every experience in life leads to a learning curve which makes you stronger and more attune to making business decisions. It is my belief that the hospitality sector taught me my management skills which in turn make me approachable from an apprentice to a CEO. Built-rite is a young company with an impressive track record in shop fitting, corporate interiors and restaurant/bar fit-outs. We are based in Melbourne, but serve a growing list of national and international clients, building on success born from a strong commitment to customer service, high quality standards and “value for money” philosophy. What would you say stands out as the comparative advantage of your business over the competition? A totally flexible attitude to business enables us to manage a wide range of projects on a design and build basis as well as to work alongside clients’ own architects and designers. Our core management team embraces the essential functions of financial control, estimating, setting-out and contract management. What sets Built-rite above the rest is our commitment. Every site is personally controlled by a member of the management team to ensure deadlines are met promptly. Customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance to Built-rite. Did your Greek background help you or impede you during your early days?Growing up in Greece and serving in the army at an early age has in my view helped me to be resilient, to accept constructive critique and above all has taught me to be disciplined in all aspects of life and every day decisions we make. How is business currently given the world financial crisis, and what are some of the major projects you’re involved overseas?
