TALLAHASSEE, FL – OCTOBER 27: Deondre Francois #12 of the Florida State Seminoles throws a pass while under pressure in the second quarter of the game against the Clemson Tigers at Doak Campbell Stadium on October 27, 2018 in Tallahassee, Florida. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)The Clemson vs. Florida State game, usually one of the most anticipated of the season, is an absolute joke this year. The Tigers currently lead the Seminoles 59-3 early in the fourth quarter. One former FSU star is losing his mind on Twitter.Jacobbi McDaniel, who played at Florida State from 2009-2013 and helped the program win a national title, has taken to Twitter with some thoughts on the contest. In short, he’s beyond disappointed with what the Seminoles are doing on the field. It’s hard to blame him. Florida State, after holding Clemson scoreless in the first quarter, has given up 59 points since. The team’s offense hasn’t been much better. Here’s what McDaniel had to say. Some of it is quite colorful.Debo tryna put up 35 in the first half! Sheesh lol.— Jacobbi McDaniel (@JacobbiJustice) October 27, 2018They out there being friendly with Clemson players. LUBBOCK, TX – SEPTEMBER 08: Alan Bowman #10 of the Texas Tech Red Raiders scrambles with the football during the game against the Lamar Cardinals on September 08, 2018 at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech won the game 77-0. (Photo by John Weast/Getty Images)Texas Tech football is looking to shake up the College Football Playoff picture against Oklahoma tonight, but it caught some serious bad luck at halftime. The Red Raiders led OU 31-28 at the half, with Alan Bowman dealing. He was 21-for-26 for 227 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. And yet, it is Jett Duffey behind center for the Red Raiders in the third quarter.According to a report, Alan Bowman was hit by a football during halftime warm-ups, and now he’s in the locker room for evaluations. It is unclear what exactly happened to cause a potential Alan Bowman injury, but Duffey has handled the first two drives for the Red Raiders.Bowman was in a nice shootout with Heisman candidate Kyler Murray, who had three total touchdowns but two interceptions leading to 14 Texas Tech points in the first half.Murray is taking advantage so far in half No. 2. On OU’s first drive, Murray led the team on a four-play, 69-yard scoring drive, capped by a 46 yard touchdown toss to Lee Morris.ARE YOU KIDDING ME? LEE MORRIS?? #BoomerSooner pic.twitter.com/IhPROzy6oP— FballMedia (@fballmedia) November 4, 2018The Sooners are driving again. They got a real scare in the first half, but Texas Tech may need to stem the tide here soon.
AL.comTaulia Tagovailoa, younger brother of Alabama superstar quarterback Tua, committed to Alabama back in April, but that didn’t stop other big programs from trying to flip him.He wasn’t a solid commit all fall though. With his brother holding onto the starting job for at least another year, there’s seemed to be a chance that he’d blaze his own trail.Tennessee was involved, and LSU made a pretty big push on the younger Tagovailoa during the middle of the season. He remained a member of the Crimson Tide class throughout, though, and today, he made it official.Taulia Tagovailoa signed with Alabama football this morning. It probably wasn’t the most dramatic moment of the day for Crimson Tide fans, but they can let out a sigh of relief nevertheless. It’s official! Taulia Tagovailoa is headed to play for #Alabama! #RollTide ? pic.twitter.com/W8PdatS6iF— Simone Eli (@SimoneEli_TV) December 19, 2018247Sports has Tagovailoa as a four-star recruit, and the No. 110 player in his class. He is the No. 5 pro-style quarterback, and sixth-ranked player in Alabama. The Crimson Tide are expected to have the No. 1 class in the country when everything shakes out.
“Owusu was recruited to play Rover,” Lea said. “He’s the first true Rover that we’ve had. He really embodies what that position is meant to be. His length, his athleticism, his ability to cover…even more than [former linebacker Drue] Tranquill.“Tranquill was a Buck linebacker playing Rover. Asmar was a Mike linebacker playing Rover. Wu is a Rover. He’s 217 pounds now and I’m really excited about him. He had a really nice spring.”Notre Dame has developed some solid NFL linebackers recently. Along with Tranquill, who now plays for the Chargers, the team has developed Manti Te’o and Jaylon Smith.Great years by the linebackers have tended to follow great years by the team overall. If this group is all Lea has it cracked up to be, perhaps another trip to the College Football Playoff may be in the cards. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images)Notre Dame is coming off a 12-0 regular season and a trip to the College Football Playoff. But after a quick exit at the hands of Clemson, the Irish will be looking to finish the job next year. One Notre Dame coach identified a position that could help lead them there.Per Irish Illustrated, Notre Dame defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Clark Lea spoke glowingly about his linebacker corps. He noted that despite their lack of experience, it’s one of the best-looking groups he’s coached.“It’s as talented, athletic, long a group as I’ve coached… When you think about the squad in 2017 and the movement and the speed and the range compared to now, I think it’s night and day. I think we’ve really come a long way.”This year’s group of linebackers is projected to consist of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Asmar Bilal, Jack Lamb, Jordan Genmark Heath, and Shayne Simon. The latter four were all four-star prospects coming out of high school. But Lea had his best reviews for Owusu-Koramoah, who referred to him as “the first real Rover that we’ve had.”

Press Trust of India New DelhiJuly 3, 2019UPDATED: July 3, 2019 12:28 IST Over 23,000 students take admission in Delhi University (DU) after first cut-offOver 23,700 students have been admitted to the Delhi University after the first cut-off list, with experts predicting that there will be a marginal decrease in the cut-offs in the second list.DU Admissions 2019: Total number of studentsAccording to varsity authorities, 23,780 admissions took place till 8.25 pm Tuesday. Experts said that this year, the colleges have over-admitted students and will tread a cautious path in the second cut-off list.”Last year, there were only 6,000 admissions to 56,000 seats after the first cut-off list but this year the number is quite high. There are many colleges where admissions are much more than the number of seats allocated for that particular course,” an admission official said.Marginal decline in cut-offs for courses:Principals also said there will be a marginal decline in cut-offs for courses since they do not want to over-admit.According to Dr Kalpana Bhakuni, the principal of Kamala Nehru College, the second list usually sees withdrawals.”There are many students who withdraw their admission from one college and take admission to another college, if it is of their choice or the course is of their preference,” she said.(READ: DU Admission 2019 second cut off list to be out soon at du.ac.in, check all details here)Colleges to be more watchful in the second cut-off list:She said the colleges would be more watchful in the second cut-off list and the decline in the cut-offs for courses where seats are still left would see a marginal decline of 0.25 to 0.5 per cent while the slide might be in the range of 1.25 to 1.5 per cent for Hindi and Sanskrit, since there have been very few admissions.advertisementHindu College Principal Anju Srivastava also echoed similar feelings and said there would be a marginal decline in cut-offs in the second list. The college has over 800 seats and it has touched the 1,000-mark in terms of admissions, an official said. Some courses like BCom (Honours), Physical Science and Zoology will see second cut-offs but the slide will be marginal. No admission to BCom (Honours) in Kirori Mal College:In Kirori Mal College, there has not been a single admission to BCom(Honours) and the college will review its cut-offs and it is expected that there will be decline of 0.5 to 3 per cent, a professor on condition of anonymity said.”Our cut-offs for BCom (Honours) were same as that of Shri Ram College of Commerce. We understand that when it comes to the course, SRCC is the first choice, followed by Hindu and Hansraj. This year, there was not an open window provided to colleges to review their cut-offs after seeing the cut-offs of other colleges. We will assess the situation,” he added. The professor said that the college has seen admission to BCom course.Over 1,000 admissions done in Lady Shri Ram College:Lady Shri Ram College has also seen over 1,000 admissions, according to officials. No second cut-offs for BA (Honours) Economics at SRCC:SRCC has had 142 admissions under BA (Honours) Economics which as 135 seats. Next India Today Web Desk New DelhiJuly 4, 2019UPDATED: July 4, 2019 14:17 IST ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Pakistan need a miracle against Bangladesh on Friday to qualify for semi-finals (AP Photo)HIGHLIGHTSEngland, Australia and India have sealed their spot in the semifinalsPakistan needed India or New Zealand to defeat England for a spot in the semifinalsPakistan and Bangladesh will face each other in their last group-stage fixtureFast-bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar blasted New Zealand, saying he was disappointed with the way the Black Caps played against England in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday.New Zealand lost to hosts England by 119 runs, all but ending Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-final of World Cup 2019. Nonetheless, Akhtar feels only Pakistan and not anyone else is responsible for their impending exit from the 50-over tournament in England.”I was disappointed with the way New Zealand played against England. They didn’t give any fight and meekly surrendered before England. They played like amateurs. They didn’t play quality cricket,” Shaoib Akhtar said in his YouTube channel.Pakistan suffered a massive defeat to arch-rivals India in their June 16 meeting in Manchester but have played a different brand of cricket ever since. Sarfaraz Ahmed’s men are on a 3-match unbeaten run after having outclassed the likes of South Africa, New Zealand and Afghanistan.Pakistan wanted a few results to go their way, especially against England. They would have benefitted had India and New Zealand defeated the hosts in their last 2 league matches but Eoin Morgan’s men stormed into the semi-final with wins over the 2 teams.Akhtar pointed out that Pakistan’s World Cup-opening defeat to West Indies and their 46-run loss to Australia were 2 matches that influenced their current standing in the World Cup points table.”The match against West Indies cost us badly. Then their match against Sri Lanka got abandoned. After that, they lost the game to Australia which they should have won. These three matches made it very difficult for Pakistan. They themselves have got out of the tournament. Nobody else is responsible for their loss,” Akhtar said.advertisementMeanwhile, Akhtar also urged Pakistan to give it their all and play for pride in their final group-stage match against Bangladesh.”All is not lost still. We have to play for our pride against Bangladesh. Pakistan has to make sure they don’t get humiliated and therefore they should play good cricket against Bangladesh,” Akhtar added. Also Read | World Cup 2019: Pakistan need lightning to strike Bangladesh team, jokes Mohammad YousufAlso Read | World Cup 2019: I should have won the Australia match for Pakistan, rues Imam-ul-HaqAlso SeeFor sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to indiatoday.in/sports.
