Ovinou looks forward to train young athletes

first_imgReturning from his second Olympics participation in Rio at the Jacksons International airport yesterday, Ovinou said he is looking forward to raise young athletes to participate in the Oceania championships and the 2020 Olympics giving them the best to become future Papua New Guinea’s Judoka’s.Adding that in the Oceania, four best judo athletes will be selected to take up training in Europe as they prepare for the next Olympics. “I am looking at sending one of my best fighters to participate and take up overseas training going forward,” Ovinou said.However, despite saying the recent Olympics will be his last; Ovinou also said he is still looking forward to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics if the head coaches allow him to.He thanked Papua New Guineans for their support saying the competition was so tough out there  against some of the world’s best which resulted in him getting knocked out in his first fight.last_img
